Broadcast Links

The VialiteHD range of fiber optic links enable indoor and outdoor broadcast operators to transport multiple RF feeds between cameras, wireless microphones and production communications (such as IFBs over optical fiber).  The ultra-wide dynamic range allows for multiple signals to be transported simultaneously.

The Broadcast links offered are:

  1. Green OEM Link covering 100 MHz-1 GHz with voltage protection
  2. UHF/VHF 10 MHz-1 GHz
  3. DVB-T 470-900 MHz with input voltage protection.

Main features and benefits:

  • The Green OEM Link (previously known as the Broadcast module) is an HD replacement for both the 1GHz and DVB-T Classic OEMs
  • Input Voltage Protection ensures stray voltages from other equipment does not damage the links
  • WDM for diverse antennas on a single fiber
  • Wide dynamic range allows multiple cameras or microphones of varying powers over a single link
  • Standard link 1 m to 10 km.

    Ultra-wide dynamic range

The ultra-wide dynamic range allows for multiple cameras or microphones to be transmitted down a single fiber, even at varying signal levels.  This allows for many cameras or audio devices – at varying distances from the antennas – to be transmitted simultaneously.

    Green OEM Link

Form-fit and function replacement for ViaLite’s DVB-T and UHF/VHF Classic OEM links.  The Green OEM Link was previously known as the Broadcast module.

The Green module has exceptionally low power usage at just Tx – 1.1 W and Rx – 0.8 W.  This reduced power consumption is particularly important within the broadcast market, with wireless mics and cameras typically being battery-powered. The lower consumption means cheaper, smaller and lighter batteries with a shorter battery life can be used.

    CWDM and WDM

WDM allows for diversity antennas to be transmitted down a single fiber.  CWDM allows for multiple antennas to be transmitted back via a single fiber or to be integrated into an existing fiber data network.

    Inbuilt bias tee

The fiber optic transmitter can be used to power the antenna / down-converter via a voltage feed from the RF input.

    Further features and benefits:

    • Enclosures available for outdoor installations
    • Minimal carrier to noise degradation
    • Frequency response independent of path length
    • Low cost compared with coaxial cable
    • Non-conductive and immunity to electrical interference.
